The Plan

"the only certainty  that there is, is that there is nothing certain"

As 2024 we are cruising the Baltic area and then going to England for the fall.

As 2018 the boat is on the hard in Curacao awaiting a refit.

We crossed the Indian Ocean in 2016 and the Atlantic Ocean in the beginning of 2017 finishing our circumnavigation after 28 years

As of March 14 2007 we are in Rebak marina having work done on the boat.

As of September 23, 2005 we are in Langkawi, Malaysia. While in Cocos Keeling Island we met a few boats that had stopped in Bali and just loved it. We realized that we were moving too fast and not smelling the roses. We also spoke with boater from Phuket, Thailand who told us that the situation there was just about normal now. So we checked the wind and ocean current for heading up there. They were favorable so we decided to hang a right and sail on up to Thailand and Malaysia. We will be in these waters for the next few years and returning to "w**k" from here

As of  January 9th  2004  we are presently  in Sydney Australia.

We will be returning to the boat and doing more inland cruising of Australia in January 2005. We will fly into Sydney to get our Jackaroo 4WD then drive along the coast to Bundaberg in Queensland. We are having the hull Awlgripped while we are away. When we arrive we'll need to paint the deck and redo some more varnish. We plan to cruise the Great Barrier Reef in April and May going north towards Darwin. We'll be doing some land cruising as well, somehow moving the 4WD up to Darwin, where we will sell it. We’ll be leaving OZ probably at the start of June 2005 and heading straight across the Indian Ocean to the East African Coast, stopping at several islands along the way (Christmas, Cocos, Chagos, Seychelles, and Comoros). We want to be in South Africa by November 2005. We’ll leave the boat in Cape Town and fly back to the States to go to work again, probably for a year. In 2007 we’ll head to Brazil and up the Amazon; sail up the Caribbean islands to the Intercoastal, taking it on up to Quebec for July 2008, when Quebec celebrates the 450th anniversary of it’s founding by Samuel de Champlain (Serge’s mother is a de Champlain). We plan on reserving a spot in the marina in Quebec City early. The Tall Ships will be there for the event.
